The Plaistow is the area in the centre of the village which serves as a play and sports centre and a focus for outdoor village events, such as the annual Barley show. The playground is open for children and young people to enjoy, as well as the football pitches which can be used all year round. In addition, the Plaistow is home to the Barley tennis courts.
